Arsenal kicked off their Premier League campaign with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Wolves, thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz.
The Gunners continued with their form from last season, which saw them finish second-place.
After an early dominance in the encounter, Havertz broke the deadlock for Mikel Arteta’s side, following a cross from Saka.
Despite their early lead, Arsenal struggled to put the game to bed, allowing Wolves to gain ground.
The visitors came close to equalizing, particularly when debutant Jorgen Strand Larsen’s header forced a brilliant save from Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.
Wolves continued to press after the break, with Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha both missing opportunities to level the score.
However, Arsenal capitalized on Wolves’ poor finishing for the second goal.
Saka doubled the lead, converting Havertz’s pass with a powerful near-post shot past goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Raya, named Player of the Match, ensured Arsenal’s clean sheet with a crucial late save from Pablo Sarabia, sealing off all three points for the Gunners.
