Romania hammer Mudryk’s Ukraine 3-0 to begin campaign

Romania delivered a stunning 3-0 win over Ukraine in Munich to start their Euro 2024 Championship on a high note.

The match started with a bang as Romanian captain Nicolae Stanciu capitalized on a poor clearance by Ukraine’s Andriy Lunin.

Stanciu sent a curling shot into the top corner, igniting celebrations among Romanian fans.

The second goal came from a quick counter-attack. Although Dennis Man initially lost possession, Razvan Marin seized the opportunity, firing a powerful shot from 25 yards out.

The Empoli midfielder’s effort found the bottom corner, though questions arose about Lunin’s positioning as the ball slipped under his hands.

Romania then sealed the win with a third goal in the second half.

A short corner led to Dennis driving into the box and delivering a precise cross, which Denis Dragus calmly finished.

Ukraine were not in their best form, even with Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk leading their frontline.

The loss leave them needing significant improvement to stay in the tournament when they face Slovakia on Friday.
