Nollywood actor cum politician Desmond Elliot has said that the resident of Surulere insisted on putting his picture on the bridge he built.
Desmond Elliot has come out to clear the air on the controversial wooden bridge known as the ‘Pako bridge’ he constructed for residents in his constituency.
During an interview on TVC’s Your View show. the politician was asked why he fixed his picture on the wooden bridge and toilet he constructed for his constituents in 2020.
According to him, in 2020 he visited the residents to console a mother who had lost her 13-year-old daughter in a canal. However, while going to fetch the body of the girl, he realized the wooden bridge was weak and hence replaced it.
He disclosed that he donated N800,000 to the community for the bridge and they insisted on putting his picture on the bridge as a way to show their gratitude.
