Mayoral candidate Ray McGuire trolled fellow contender and brick-shooter Andrew Yang’s basketball skills — by posting a video of himself ably dribbling between his legs before knocking down a few shots at an outdoor court.
“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but basketball skills don’t matter at city hall,” he said in a tweet alongside the clip. “Still, glad mine aren’t too rusty.”
McGuire— a 64-year-old former Citigroup executive who has lagged in recent polls—confidently made four short jumpers in a row while wearing a blue button-down shirt and black sneakers at Beach 9th Street Playground in Far Rockaway.
The video stood in stark contrast to Yang, who on Wednesday threw up a few bricks while shooting hoops at the famed West 4th Street court known as “The Cage,” video shows.Yang, 46, awkwardly and slowly dribbled the ball through his legs in the clip after he got hit in the face with a bounce pass that ricocheted off his hand.
