Quando Rondo is mourning the loss of 23-year-old Lul Pab, who was fatally shot in Los Angeles on Friday (August 19). The Atlanta rapper was filmed at the scene of the crime, screaming, as the man’s body was pulled from the black Cadillac Escalade riddled with bullets.
On Sunday (August 21), Quando Rondo shared a few posts on Instagram commemorating Lul Pab. In one photo, he and Pab are dressed in all blue with guns and Miller High Lifes at their feet. He wrote in the caption: “My cuz,” followed by a crying emoji.
Quando Rondo added a pair of commemorative posts to his Instagram Stories as well. With 2Pac’s “Life Goes On” playing in the background, he shared another photo of himself with Lul Pab and the caption: “You hurt my heart cuz.”
Initial reports suggested Quando Rondo was also hurt in the shooting, but his team later confirmed he’d escaped unscathed. Police, however, did determine the rapper was the intended target.
Quando is all too familiar with gun violence. In November 2020, he was involved in the deadly Atlanta shooting that claimed the life of rising Chicago rapper King Von. Just hours after the killing, 22-year-old Timothy Leeks (also known as Lul Tim) was arrested on charges of first-degree murder.
Speaking to Angela Yee in an interview last April, Quando Rondo claimed he and his entourage were acting in self-defense.
“I’m thinking these were some regular individuals,” he said. “So I’m letting this group come by. Next thing you know, a n-gga hit me. Boom bow. I lie to you not. It’s like I had an out-of-body experience.”
In May 2021, Quando Rando narrowly escaped death when he was caught in a “hail of gunfire” at a local convenience store. As reported by TMZ, one member of Quando Rando’s entourage was injured and treated at nearby hospital.
