On Monday, the presidency posted images of President Bola Tinubu speaking with George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), during briefings.
According to the statement from the presidency, the President got a briefing from Akume at his office in the Aso Rock Villa.
Soon after new concerns about President Tinubu’s whereabouts were voiced by worried Nigerians, the photos were shared.
Reuben Abati, a well-known journalist and former presidential spokesperson, inquired about the whereabouts of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, as Naija News had previously reported.
President Tinubu hasn’t been seen in public for a few days, and Abati noticed that there hasn’t been any official statement about where he is. This has led to worries about Tinubu’s welfare.
The anchor questioned the President’s handlers, saying they ought to always be putting Tinubu in the news so that the populace can understand what’s happening.
Abati noted that Tinubu’s last public appearance was at the 63rd anniversary celebrations of Nigeria’s independence on October 1, shortly after his extended trip to New York for the UNGA.
Remember that until he arrived back in Nigeria on Friday evening, September 29, the president’s whereabouts were unknown, despite unconfirmed reports that he had taken a flight from New York to Paris.
Speaking on the Arsie TV Morning Show, Abati pointed out that there hasn’t been a council meeting, recent ministers haven’t been sworn in, and many other urgent government tasks haven’t been completed.
The President hasn’t been hosting visitors at Aso Rock, he continued, nor has he been present at any official events.
According to Abati, Kashim Shettima, the vice president, has been the one recently seen attending official events in public places.
