Premier League Confirms 8 New Coronavirus Infections

The Premier League, EPL, has announced that eight people have tested positive for COVID-19 following the latest phase of mass testing.
EPL disclosed this in a statement on its official website on Monday.

Recall that the number of COVID-19 positive tests is on the rise in the EPL, following the confirmation of five positive cases last week.

It read:

β€œThe Premier League can today confirm that between Monday 12 October and Sunday 18 October, 1,575 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19.

β€œOf these, there were eight new positive tests.

β€œPlayers or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.

β€œThe Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency.

β€œNo specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public after each round of testing.”
