Police officer, Darambi Vandi sentenced to death

The Lagos State High Court has sentenced Drambi Vandi, who shot Bolanle Raheem, a Lagos based lawyer, to death by hanging.

The judge Ibironke Harrison on Monday found the police officer guilty of murder.

“The court found the defendant guilty on one count of murder. You will be hanged by the neck till you are d**d.”

Recall, last year, the police officer took the life of Mrs Raheem, an expectant mother, on Christmas Day in 2022 at the Ajah roundabout in Lagos.

The police officer is attached to the Ajiwe police division in the Ajah area of the state. He was suspended two days after the incident.

Finegirl.joy reacted: “Real judgement have been served because the lawyer is your colleague, but when it comes to ordinary citizens of the society the judgement will change, Do you know how many innocent Nigerians police kill on daily basis?”

Gylliananthonette wrote: “Every Christmas in that woman’s house is gonna be so s…..ad…May their soul keep resting in peace.”

Sabitalk1 added: “My uncle Wey joined police 7 years ago, ever since then i refused to go to his house, he’s not my uncle anymore, I reject him in my family, they contributed to 99 percent of the problems Nigerian are facing till today.”

Pogcargo_ng added: “I hope they keep the same energy when the victim is not a lawyer! When the victim is a poor man! 👍.”
