Wizkid lost his mother on Friday, August 18, 2023, and the sad news quickly threw many of the singer’s fans into mourning.

In the midst of it all, the Singer has taken a hiatus from the social media scene since the passing of his mother.

Given that Mrs. Jane Balogun was deeply rooted in the Pentecostal Christian faith, it stands to reason that her final rites would follow a church-centric approach, despite the fact that Wizkid’s father practices Islam.

Afrobeats Superstar, Davido, while on stage at the recent AfroNation Festival, sent a special condolence message to Wizkid.

The DMW boss sent love messages and support to Wizkid about the passing of his mum while speaking glowingly of the singer and how his legacy in the Nigerian music industry would last forever.

Burna Boy also paused his performance at Afro Nation to offer his condolences.

According to Burna, his brother Wizkid lost his mum and he wishes her a peaceful rest. Not stopping there, he also spoke on how he cannot imagine losing his own mother and how it would be the end of him.
