The actor-cum-film director gifted his ex-wife the BMW X3 in January 2020 for her birthday, a month after the birth of their child.
In an interview with a local news outlet, Phil expressed regret for buying the German machine for Kate Actress.
Phil noted that he was foolish to spend Ksh3.5 million to buy the BMW, adding that the vehicle has high maintenance costs.
“I love cars a lot, and so I was young and foolish, and I spent so much on my car, and it has been a very expensive journey to maintain. I am like, that is a car I would have used wisely somewhere. I sold it. I have decided to go back on Uber,” he said.
Phil shared an image with the BMW X3 just a day before announcing his separation from Kate Actress in September 2023.
The image featured Philip in a yellow t-shirt and blue jeans, standing beside the sleek vehicle.
Catherine Kamau parted ways with Philip Karanja after five years of marriage.
The two jointly announced the end of their marriage in a statement issued on September 19, 2023.
Kate has since move on, dating Tribe Hotel’s General Manager Michael Mwangi.
