Perhaps their new family will be a little less filled with intrigue.
Page Six has learned that plastic surgery scion Danny Baker Jr. and Petra Khashoggi, the secret love child of disgraced British MP Jonathan Aitken and adopted daughter of the “Middle Eastern Jay Gatsby,” eloped in Southampton on Thursday.
We hear the pair married in front of only the groom’s sister, and that there’s a big family wedding planned for later. And we’re told Aitken is invited.
Petra’s mother, Soraya Khashoggi, gave birth to her in 1979, and her arms dealer husband, Adnan Khashoggi — who earned his Fitzgeraldian nickname because of his ultra-lavish lifestyle, on which he reportedly spent $250,000-a-day — brought her up believing she was his own daughter.
But a 1999 DNA test revealed that she was actually the daughter of Aitken.
The Guardian newspaper reported at the time, “Soraya had a well-publicized affair with Aitken before he married his wife in the late ’70s.”
In same year, the Brit pol was sentenced to 18 months in jail after pleading guilty to charges of perjury (for, ironically enough in this case, lying about improper relations with Saudis — although it was business not romance in that case).
Petra first met him at the age of 18.
When Aitken had life-saving surgery last year, Petra wrote a “loving tribute” to him in the Daily Mail.
She wrote, “He is often called a ‘disgraced’ former MP but I have only known him on his road to redemption and all I see is Grace. Maybe that word can be replaced with ‘Redeemed’, or even better, ‘Resurrected’.”
Baker Jr. meanwhile, the son of Park Avenue face lifter Daniel Baker, used to date British model Sophie Dahl.
Page Six first reported that the pair, who are childhood pals, were getting “hot and heavy” in a pandemic romance in April 2021.
Reached for comment at the time, Petra told us, “Yes, Danny and I are together. We both feel very fortunate to have reconnected during these trying times. Onwards and upwards!”
