Peter Obi emerges Labour Party’s presidential candidate for 2023 elections

Former governor of Anambra State and presidential aspirant, Peter Obi has emerged the Labour Party 2023 presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections.

He reportedly won the party’s primary election in Delta State after Prof. Pat Utomi stepped down for him.

Obi’s victory follows his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party and his withdrawal from its presidential primary election that subsequently saw former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar emerge victorious.

The Anambra State former governor is considered one of the top contenders for the office of the president in 2023, and is expected to give the country’s two prominent politicai parties: the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a run for their money.
