Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has shared his personal story of what he went through after his marriage to Queen Naomi ended.
He reflected on his past experience of going through a divorce, which led to public mockery and ridicule.
According to him, many people questioned his status as a king without a queen, and he felt the weight of their judgment.
Ooni stated that In his moment of solitude, he turned to his faith and sought guidance from God. He questioned his actions and wondered if he had offended anyone, as he believed he had always acted with kindness and integrity.
He explained that God’s response was to reassure him and tell him to put his mind at rest.
“When my marriage broke and I became single, many people mocked me and said there is no respect for a king that has no queen. I was sleeping and waking up alone. I called on God; I asked questions: who did I offend? I never did evil to anyone. He told me to put my mind at rest. Look at me today. There are queens everywhere in the palace” he said.
Ooni of Ife recently welcomed twins with one of his wives, Queen Tobi.
The great Yoruba monarch and one of his young wives, Queen Tobi Phillips, welcomed a set of twins, a boy and a girl.
Taking to his official Instagram page, the Ooni shared the great news of his increased household with his followers.
According to the Yoruba monarch, Queen Tobi gave birth to twins on Saturday, March 16, 2024. He also revealed that she welcomed a prince and a princess.
The Ooni went on to give an update on the well-being of the new mother and their children. According to him, they are all doing fine. In his words:
“To God be the glory, great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Tobiloba, who today birthed a Prince and Princess to the Royal throne of Oduduwa. Mother and children are doing well to the glory of God Almighty.”
