Osayomore, A Singer And Activist For Edo Culture, Has Died.

Osayomore, at 69 years old, died 5 months before his 70th birthday
The death of a musician was announced on Saturday, June 11 by the Edo chapter of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria.

Willy Eghe-Nova, the PMAN Administrator/Governor of Edo State Chapter, sent a statement…

“On Saturday, June 11th, 2022, PMAN lost a great music legend in its Ambassador Osayomore Joseph. May his creative soul rest in peace.”

The COSON chairperson confirms the death of the Edo Highlife singer, Osayomore

The music director of the National Theatre, Nigeria said; “I have just learned of the passing on of the very vibrant and effervescent music maestro with his roots in the ancient Benin kingdom, the great Osayomore Joseph.

Ulele Power King was my friend. Osayomore Joseph, a gifted highlife singer, passes away. The Ulele Power sound of Osayomore will live on in the memories and hearts of those who loved him.

Mr. Osayomore was a talented singer and songwriter in his time. He was known for criticizing corruption in his songs. His birth in 1952 explains why he began making music in the 1970s. Osayomore was a passionate Highlife artiste and leaves behind a legacy

The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria announced the death of their Chapter President, Adamu Usman on Saturday, June 11. The death of Osayomore has been confirmed by the Edo State chapter

“PMAN’s Saturday afternoon, June 11, 2022, lost a great member of the community and music legend, Ambassador Osayomore Joseph. May his creative soul rest in peace. Osayomore, the Edo state highlife legend singer died on Tuesday

He said;

“I recently heard that the music maestro, Osayomore Joseph – who has long been in the public eye as a music group leader and producer.”

“The late Ulele Power King, as he was known by his many fans, was my friend.”

Osayomore Joseph, the unforgettable Edo highlife singer is gone. Osayomore loved the sound of Ulele Power so much, that he simply had to travel. But even from afar, he will still continue to be loved. Osayomore was a great singer who criticized corruption in his songs.

He was born on October 29, 1952, in Edo State, Nigeria, and later relocated to Lagos in the 1970s.
