Fast-rising singer Fido’s song “Joy is Coming” dethroned Davido’s “Funds” from the top spot on Apple Music’s charts recently.
The development sparked a frenzy of reactions from Davido’s devoted fanbase, known as ’30 BG’ who took to social media to express their discontent.
In response to the backlash, Fido addressed the situation during a TikTok Live session.
Sarcastically speaking, the budding music act noted that he has no problem with Davido’s fans rather they would come to realize that he’s a big name in the industry soon.
In a derogatory manner, Fido referred to Davido’s fans as “Osakpolor FC,” a tongue-in-cheek reference to a nickname coined by Wizkid for Davido.
Fido further emphasized that he is not interested in engaging in any competition with another artist. He stated that any negativity stemming from the situation is a reflection of the fans’ own attitudes. He avowed that he only wants to make good music for his fans.
