Ortom Reacts To Massacre of 37 Person In Benue By Herdsmen

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has condemned the massacre of 37 persons in Igama area of the state.

Speaking on Tuesday morning, he expressed sadness at the recent deadly attack.

Recall that we reported the killing of 37 people in Igama, a rural community in Benue State on Sunday morning by suspected herdsmen.

Igama, an agrarian community, located in Okpokwu Local Government Area (LGA), is 160 kilometres from Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

The herdsmen in large numbers rode on motorbikes, invaded the community, and murdered many innocent citizens.

The attackers ravaged the community and hundreds of people have been displaced.

Ortom took to Twitter to react and wrote:

“I totally condemn the gruesome killings of farmers in Edumoga, Okpokwu local government area of the state by gun men believed to be Fulani terrorists. These terrorists must be fished out and prosecuted without delay.”
