One Killed, Three Injured In Jigawa State As Farmers, Herdsmen Clash

A 50-year-old man, Garba Danladi has been killed in a farmers/herdsmen clash in Guri Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
A resident told NAIJALOADED that the crisis started last week when a herdsmen allegedly attacked a farmer in his farm along Dawa and Gagiya Village and destroyed his farm crops.

He said as a result, a group of youths, with weapons, attacked the herdsmen.

He explained that others sustained various degrees of injuries.

Police Public Relations Officer in the State, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the incident.

He said the incident started on Wednesday when a 50-year-old farmer, Garba Danladi was attacked and beaten with a stick on his forehead.

He added that his dead body was found at Wuyan Yobe, between Dawa and Gagiya Village.

Shiisu said in an attempt to avenge his death, three people were also injured.

“60-year-old Ubali Ali, 30-year-old Mashiru Badema and Haruna Badema were shot with bow and arrow,”

He said.

He said the victims were rushed to Guri Hospital, treated and discharged.

The Police spokesman said ten persons were arrested in connection with the clashes.

NAIJALOADED reported that two persons were killed, while five others were injured in a clash between herdsmen and farmers in the Guri Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
