Stanley Omah Didah, Popularly known as Omah Lay, is a Nigerian Singer and Songwriter. Omah Lay was born in Port Harcourt on May 19 1997. He is 23 years of age.
He is from a music background. His grandfather was known to be a percussionist for Igbo High life musician, Celestine Ukwu.
Omah Lay’s Music Career
Omah Lay started his music career in his early teens, at that time as a rapper with the stage name, Lil King. He later took to learning how to produce music in 2019. However, he felt he was not getting enough credit for his works and made a resolve to take the stage instead.
In the same year, Omah Lay was able to record and release his first tracks, “Hello Brother” and “Do Not Disturb” – which became a most played track in various radio stations in his hometown. This landed him a contract with a record label, KeyQaad in July 2019 situated in Lagos State.
This turn of event was followed with Omah Lay’s explosive singles “You” and “Bad Influence” in early 2020, both of which has garnered millions of streams on major online music platforms.
Omah Lay eventually released his debut EP titled “Get Layd” on May 22, 2020. The EP featured his previously released singles ‘You’ and ‘Bad Influence’ as well as three other songs including the “LoLo” which was already topping several music charts.
Popular Lifestyle and Afrobeat magazine, Native Mag, tagged the talented songwriter as one of the artists to look out for in 2020 on their March episode of ‘Fresh Meat’.

Omah Lay’s debut EP, Get Layd, became an instant commercial success becoming the most streamed Afrobeat album on digital stores like Audiomack, Deezer and Apple Music at that time. The EP went on to earn Omah Lay Apple Music Favorite New Artiste of The Month of June in Africa.
On Friday, July 3, 2020, Omah Lay was picked as the debut star for Apple’s Africa Rising Campaign which spots talents in Africa and projects them throughout the continent and globally. There are hints that the talented artiste may bag the ‘Rookie of the Year win’ at the next Headies and of course, loyal fans cannot wait to see that happen.

Speaking of record labels, Omah Lay was first signed to a record label called KeyQaad in June 2019. A signing that made him leave Port Harcourt for Lagos for the first time.
Later on, he was signed into Dvpper Music, a record label owned by Damilola Akinwunmi.
On 9th November 2020, he was signed into Warner Music group under Sire Records, a subsidiary of the Warner Music Group.
Warner Music Group is Omah Lay’s current record label.
He released his first body of work, a 5-track EP titled “What Have We Done” with Warner Music Group emblem on 20th November 2020.
