The ruling, made by Justice O. Osunfisan, came after a motion was submitted by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, with Emmanuel Oroko acting on his behalf.
The injunction specifically halts the “Sing for Mohbad and Win” event, which was scheduled to occur from September 12 to 14, 2024, in Ogun State or any other location.
Mohbad’s family has taken legal steps, asking the public to honor their time of grief and refrain from commercializing Mohbad’s legacy.
They voiced their worries that certain individuals were trying to take advantage of the affection surrounding their late son for profit.
Odumosu stated that the case is set to return to court on October 7, 2024, for a hearing regarding the motion for an interlocutory injunction.
This action follows the family’s earlier requests for people and organizations to obtain their consent before organizing any events in Mohbad’s name, emphasizing the need to respectfully honor his memory.
