Companies have offered to pay for a couple’s wedding after a journalist made fun of the man for popping the question to his girlfriend at KFC.

The journalist, known on Twitter as Butterfly_Anele, shamed the man for popping the question to his girlfriend at KFC, a “cheap” restaurant, on her page.

A company going by the name Kulula offered to sponsor the couple on a complimentary holiday treat for their honeymoon a few hours after she posted.

A jewelry store offered to provide the couple two stunning rose gold diamonds worth R45000 for their wedding, and another company, a vehicle company, offered to give them a free trip to their destinations.

Coca-Cola also extended an offer to the couple to sponsor their wedding with soft drinks. A consultancy group, appliances, Puma, network providers, and other businesses volunteered to cover their electrical costs for the entire year.
