No Nigerian actor can buy Range Rover – Bimbo Manuel

  • Bimbo Manuel stated that most of his colleagues who are flaunting luxurious mansions and cars online are living “fake” lives.
  • He said he doesn’t care about living a flamboyant lifestyle because he likes “a realistic life”.

Veteran Nollywood actor Bimbo Manuel has shared his insights on the lifestyles of his fellow actors.

In a recent episode of the TVC program “Your View,” Manuel stated that it’s highly unlikely for actors in Nigeria to afford luxurious cars like Range Rovers solely through their acting income.

He noted that many actors who showcase expensive mansions and cars on social media may be presenting a facade, suggesting that their extravagant lifestyles might not be entirely authentic.

The actors you see flaunting Range Rovers and mansions in Ikoyi are living fake lives.

“No actor in Nigeria would say he or she can buy a Range Rover from acting fees alone,” he said.

Manuel emphasized that he values humility and realism, prioritizing a simple life over flamboyant displays of wealth.

In a similar story, Seun Kuti had queried his colleagues’ wealth, stating that he is just building his first house after 20 years.

Speaking during a recent Instagram Live session, Kuti expressed doubt over the wealth of some of his colleagues, downplaying the possibility of their enormous wealth being from musical earnings.

He stated that he is only just building his first house despite touring for 20 years, yet artistes with less than two hit songs are wealthier than him. In Seun Kuti’s words:

“I have been touring for over 20 years, and I’m only just building my first house. Where is the music money coming from? Musician never get two songs, he don buy Lamborghini and G-wagon. Where’s this music money coming from?”

It’s no news that in recent times, more Nigerian artistes have come out to boast about the lucrativeness of the music industry.
