Gospel singer Ringtone has made a public comeback after being absent for nearly three months. The singer was last seen online in December 2023.
On Friday, April 5, he was at a college giving motivational speeches to students. He also volunteered to pay the tuition fees for a young lady going to study in the United Kingdom.
“This year, I want to keep things simple. People often mistreat me, and I stay silent. I’ve learned that when you have something, people celebrate you, but when you don’t, they laugh at you. In life, there are ups and downs,” he wrote.
The Tenda Wema singer told YouTuber Trudy Kitui that he was absent for personal reasons.
He mentioned financial challenges and dismissed rumors that he was suffering from depression.
“I’m not depressed. Maybe you people think so, maybe you saw it as depression, but it’s your own interpretation.”
“I’ve faced personal challenges, but I thank God for helping me overcome them. There was a time I prayed and ate avocados for all my meals – breakfast, lunch, supper. I used to farm those avocados, and they were plenty, falling from the trees.”
He hopes that things will be better this year.
“People go through challenges maybe to realign themselves with their purpose,” hinting that he may have strayed from the Gospel.
“Money made me forget, and I went into other things, so I’ve come back and said charity begins at home. From here, I will undertake many community projects.” Ringtone says.
