A Nigerian lady named Rosemary Isong has sparked a heated debate on social media after stating her discomfort with dating a man who has never asked her for financial assistance.
According to Isong, the absence of financial transparency and open communication about money matters in a relationship is a major red flag.
Isong, who expressed her views passionately, shared that she believes a healthy relationship should include the willingness to discuss financial matters openly.
She emphasized that if her partner refrains from seeking financial aid from her, even for relatively modest sums such as N20,000 or N50,000, it would raise concerns in her mind.
She added that if her significant other were to turn to friends rather than her in times of financial need, it would be offensive to her and would potentially damage the bond between them.
The young woman went on to share that her financial philosophy within a relationship is based on reciprocity and trust.
Isong indicated that if she has been dating someone for six months and he has never asked her for financial assistance, she would consider it a deal-breaker.
Isong’s remarks have stirred up a mixture of reactions on social media platforms.

But for mrn like me, sometimes make her pay for a food or sth we bought together that you think she can afford. Tell her to recharge you and when she does, pay her back… Just be a man. That’s it”
