Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis will make first contact with Antonio Conte today, for Napoli’s managerial position.
This was revealed by popular transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano on his X account on Wednesday.
Conte is said to have emerged as Napoli’s favourite to replace Rudi Garcia as the club’s manager. Formal discussions with the former Tottenham boss are set to begin, and could be an in-person meeting.
Rumours about Napoli’s interest in Conte have been on for days, and the former Chelsea manager did not rule out the possibility when questioned by Sky Sport Italia during an event celebrating 100 years of the Agnelli family at Juventus on Tuesday.
The current Napoli manager, Rudi Garcia, finds himself under increasing pressure following a mixed start to the season, with only five wins, two draws, and three defeats in Serie A and the Champions League.
De Laurentiis who is said to be at the Filmauro offices in Rome, is reportedly considering an in-person meeting with Conte, possibly happening today.
Conte managed Tottenham Hotspur until March this year. He has also built a reputation for himself, managing clubs like Inter Milan and Juventus, where he secured the Serie A titles.
