Napoli announce squad for Madrid clash with notable players ruled out

Napoli have officially announced it squad for the Champions League clash against Real Madrid, with three notable absentees.

Coach Rudi Garcia confirmed that Pierluigi Gollini, Amir Rahmani, and Juan Jesus will not be available for the Tuesday night fixture.

Meanwhile, the absence of these players doesn’t come as a surprise for many, as their unavailability was widely expected ahead of the crucial Champions League fixture.

In their place, 21-year-old Polish goalkeeper Hubert Idasiak has been included in the squad as a replacement for injured Gollini.

Additionally, Luigi D’Avino has been included as a center-back replacement for both Juan Jesus and Rrahmani.

According to reports by Football Italia, tonight’s game will see Natan and Leo Ostigard start in central defense for Napoli, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Victor Osimhen and Matteo Politano will make up the team’s attacking lineup

Recall that Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen were not part of the starting lineup in Napoli’s previous match against Lecce, but made significant contributions after coming on as substitutes in the second half.

Both Napoli and Real Madrid are expected to come into the game with good confidence, having secured victories in their opening Champions League games against Braga and Union Berlin, respectively.
