Actress Lolade Okusanya recently revealed that her mother had approved her role in Toyin Abraham’s new movie ‘Ijakumo’.
In the crime thriller, Lolade Okunsanya played the role of an undercover stripper.
The actress recently appeared on TVC’s program, Your View, and disclosed that she sent pictures of strippers to her mother and siblings and informed them to anticipate her to play the same role in her upcoming movie.
She stated that her family was prepared to see her in the part.
She said:
“I was not me. I was the character.
“I was in that phase. I was not thinking of me. So, before this [playing the role]. I had already… Most important people in my life would be my family members, who I know would break me. So, while I was sending strippers’ videos to aunty Toyin Abraham, I was also sending them to my mum, my sister, my brother, and other important people in my life. I said, ‘These are the kind of things you will see on Netflix, hope it’s fine?’ My mum said, ‘Hmm’.
“But they had prepared their minds. They had prepared their own extended families’ minds. The people that mattered the most to me, were prepared. Social media can do its thing. But the people that mattered most to me were holding my hand.”
Actress Lolade Okusanya had earlier this year, jokingly tackled her biological mother by naming her a liar and the source of her problem.
Taking to her Instagram story, the AMVCA award-winning actress, stated that her mother had deceived her into believing a woman needs to work for her money.
According to the Ijakumo actress, she spent alot during the festive period which has left her with several debit alerts.
Lolade stressed that she needs a man to cater for her needs and bills and has relinquished the ‘independent woman’ title.
