Former Juventus star Paolo Di Canio has criticized José Mourinho for missing matches and ignoring post-match interviews.
Mourinho was sent off after receiving a red card during Roma’s 1-1 draw against Atalanta on Sunday, and also failed to engage in a post-match interview.
Di Canio who felt disappointed by Mourinho’s attitude labeled the act as “not normal.”
The red card will see Mourinho take a one-match ban, missing Roma’s upcoming game against Milan at San Siro.
There has been concerns about Mourinho’s frequent match bans, especially for away games in Milan.
Di Canio highlighted that Mourinho has already missed three games out of eight in Milan since joining Roma in 2021, which he deemed excessive.
“Mourinho has missed three games from eight in Milan. Even one would be too much, no? It can’t be normal. I don’t want to sound controversial, but Mourinho is a regular about this.
“It happens with many other teams too. When things don’t go well, they don’t show up. I want to talk about football with those directly involved, so this has to change, and somebody should intervene,” he added.
