Arsenal are “very close” to signing Alvaro Morata this summer, according to Sport.
The Gunners failed to land Morata as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.
With manager Mikel Arteta looking to bolster his squad ahead of the new season, he has decided to go after the Spanish striker again.
Alexandre Lacazette is likely to leave at the end of his contract and despite Eddie Nketiah having seemingly agreed a new deal, there is still need for reinforcements.
The transfer for Morata would cost Arsenal around £25million.
Should that be the case then it would mark Morata’s return to the Premier League since his disastrous spell with Chelsea.
The 29-year-old was signed from Real Madrid in 2017, scoring 24 goals before departing midway through the next campaign in a switch to Atletico Madrid.
