The ongoing Round 16 Women’s World Cup match between Nigeria and England has taken a different turn with Chelsea women star, Lauren James getting a red card for stepping on Super Falcons player, Michelle Alozie.
The Nigerian players have taken the game to England, pressing them continuously and limiting their chances.
Lauren James who has been a star player for England in their World Cup campaign, was pocketed during the match and has not been given breathing space by the Super Falcons players who have been superb thus far.
With frustrations and tension growing on the English side, Lauren James decided to take it all out on Michelle Alozie who she knocked down. While trying to stand after their clash, she intentionally stepped on Alozie in her boots who writhed out in pain.

After a review, she was handed a red-card and sent off from the match.
