Owodunni Ibrahim aka Primeboy, who, like Mohbad, is an Afro-Streetpop artist, has stepped forward once more to set the record straight and dispel any lingering accusations surrounding his late friend’s passing.
In the days leading up to Mohbad’s sudden demise, there were reports of a heated altercation between Primeboy and Imole. Rumor has it that this dispute escalated to the point where punches were exchanged.
Primeboy was notably present in the widely circulated video announcing Imole’s passing. In one viral clip, he could be seen grief-stricken, loudly lamenting Mohbad’s demise. He also took responsibility for sharing the video depicting Mohbad’s lifeless form, which quickly gained notoriety.
The police, on a Wednesday, declared him a fugitive and offered a reward for his capture due to his reluctance to cooperate with law enforcement. On Thursday, October 5, he opted to face the music and turned himself in to the authorities.
In a chat with TVC correspondent, Primeboy was questioned about whether he had been with Mohbad on the day of the singer’s demise, to which he refuted the claim and firmly stated that he wasn’t with him.
Detailing the last encounter he had with Mohbad and what unfolded, Primeboy explained that they had a brief clash at an event. His intention was to calm Mohbad down and prevent him from exiting his car during a disagreement with late music star’s wife, Omowunmi Aloba.
Primeboy recounted that the late singer ended up forcibly ejecting him from the car as he attempted to intervene and defuse the situation, and calm him over emotions Mohbad was unwilling to share.
Regarding allegations connecting him to his late friend’s demise, Primeboy vehemently professed his innocence, emphasizing his desire for justice.
He went further, alleging that Mohbad’s wife is attempting to unfairly implicate him in the tragedy for unfounded reasons.
