Mohamed Salah was asked for an update on his future after his impressive performance in the 5-0 thrashing against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday, December 29, 2024. According to the Egyptian King, both parties are still far from deciding on the possibility of a new contract.
What did Mohamed Salah say about his future at Liverpool?
“The only thing on my mind is I want Liverpool to win the league and I want to be part of that. That’s the only thing I focus on since the beginning of the season. We are far away from that [any news on contract]. I don’t want to put something in the media and everyone start talking. I am focused on the team and winning the Premier League.”
Salah also made Premier League history as the first player to score and assist in eight different games in a single season. Also eight seasons in a row Salah has scored 20+ goals for Liverpool in all competitions, a new club record.
Arne Slot was also asked about the future of his players ( Salah, Van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold)who are currently out of contract.
“I think I have a lot of control over what they do if they’re on a training pitch But their private lives I don’t have control.I don’t think I have to say too much about it. I’m really happy with Trent, as I am with Mo and Virgil. For me, there’s no difference. Maybe there is more happening in the media [with Trent] than the other two, but I’m really happy with the three.”
The future of these players will be ending at the end of this current season and if a new agreement is not reached before the January transfer window ends, they could agree on a new deal with another club.
