Modric’s stunner secures narrow win for Real Madrid over Sevilla

Real Madrid maintained their eight-point lead at the top of La Liga with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Sevilla, thanks to a brilliant goal from Luka Modric.

The match, played in the Spanish capital, was a tight affair with both teams creating few clear-cut chances in the first half.

In the second half, Real Madrid increased their pressure, creating several scoring opportunities, with Vinicius Junior coming close to breaking the deadlock.

However, Sevilla’s defense denied them until the dying minutes of the game.

With the match seemingly heading for a draw, Modric, who came off the bench, found himself in space on the edge of the box and unleashed a curling shot that left the Sevilla goalkeeper with no chance.

The win sees Carlo Ancelotti’s side maintain their dominance at the top of the table, with a crucial league trip to Valencia next on their agenda, before facing RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
