The MLB postseason schedule has been released.
The regular season will end on Wednesday, October 5.
Two days later, the Wild Card series will begin in both leagues.
This round has been extended to three games, with the higher seed hosting all three of the games, as a result of the expanded postseason field.
The round will last from October 7-9 with an off day on October 10 before the start of the Division Series matchups.
The top two seeds in each league will get a bye, with the No. 3 seed hosting the No. 6 seed and the No. 4 seed hosting the No. 5 seed.

MLB announced the postseason schedule. If the Mets lock up the NL East/No. 2 seed, they will end the regular season on Oct. 5 and start the NLDS on Oct. 11.

The Rest Of The Schedule
All four Division Series matchups will begin on Tuesday, October 11, with the American League teams getting a day off in between the first two games and the National League teams not getting a travel day in between Games 4 and 5, if necessary.
The NLDS will conclude on Sunday, October 16, with the ALDS concluding on Monday, October 17.
The NLCS will start on Tuesday, October 18, with Game 7 being scheduled for Tuesday, October 25.
The ALCS starts on Wednesday, October 19 and will run until Wednesday, October 26.
The 118th World Series will kick off on Friday October 28, with a travel day on Sunday, October 30 after Game 2.
Games 3 through 5 will take place from October 31 to November 2, meaning that we will have November baseball this year.
If necessary, Game 7 will take place on Saturday, November 5.
The schedule is slightly truncated due to the lockout and the rescheduling of regular season games, but we should be in for a wild ride when the postseason finally arrives.
