The sudden return of popular Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun, also known as AY, and his wife, Mabel, to Nigeria after losing their house to a devastating fire a month ago has sparked a mixture of reactions among the public.

The comedian uploaded pictures and video of him and his wife, Mabel Makun, at their friend’s birthday party, which was held a month after they had to evacuate from their Lagos house due to a fire incident.

Ayo Makun expressed his excitement to come back home after the sad event.

Sharing pictures and video of him and his wife, he wrote:

While many are relieved to see the couple back on their feet and moving forward from the unfortunate incident, others feel that their comeback has been filled with a sense of ostentation and excessive showmanship which they find off-putting.
