Missing 11-year-old girl found in uncompleted building in Port Harcourt; suspect arrested

A 11-year-old girl, Naomi Sotonye Elijah, who went missing on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been found safe and sound.

The family had raised an alarm after the Junior Secondary School 2 (JSS2) student disappeared in the Abuloma area, specifically on Okilo Road.

A Good Samaritan discovered the young girl on Sunday night in an uncompleted building at Elimg, and promptly took her to the nearest police station for identification.

Confirming the positive development, Barrister Adata Bio-Briggs, the chairperson of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Rivers State chapter, stated that Naomi has been successfully reunited with her family.

This news has brought immense relief to the relatives and well-wishers who had been anxiously awaiting her safe return.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the alleged abduction.  The details surrounding the circumstances of Naomi’s disappearance and her discovery are still emerging.

However, the swift action taken by the Good Samaritan and law enforcement has ensured a prompt resolution to the distressing incident.
