In the suit filed on March 23rd, Mercy Chinwo accused the musician of derogatorily and shamingly using her name and image in a worldly jam.
Mercy Chinwo’s legal team sent a ‘cease and desist’ letter to Obidiz, demanding that he refrain from using her name and image to promote his music.
As part of the cease and desist letter, Obidiz was instructed to promptly remove the song he had published from all musical platforms and to take down any promotional videos featuring Mercy Chinwo’s image or clips from all social media platforms.
If he fails to comply with the demands in the letter, the full force of the law will be employed against him, and Mercy Chinwo will seek damages amounting to 2 billion naira.
