Jalang’o disputed the idea of couples sharing costs saying it is very primitive.
He noted that he used to take care of everything while dating even during the days he had not made it in life.
“Men must provide. Why are you dating a woman if you can’t provide for her 100%? Why are you making your woman pay for anything? Even when I was broke, I never let any woman pay for anything. That’s stone-age, unpalatable, and primitive,” the first time MP said.
Jalang’o sentiments are similar to social media personality Bravin Yuri’s. In April, Yuri cautioned women on dating men who advocate for 50/50.
“If you date a man who keeps insisting on 50/50, just know you are dating an individual who will bring hell to your life. As the man of the house, you have to provide 100%. This does not mean the woman can’t choose to buy nyanya na vitunguu kwa nyumba. It means she can choose not to and you will still have to because you have to.
“The woman can only step in when things are tough and this is just supporting the role until you are back on your feet,” Yuri said.
