Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) witnessed a remarkable feat as 24-year-old lady named Chinonye Egbo achieved an extraordinary milestone by becoming a lecturer at the institution upon completing her MSc.
In a captivating 2021 video interview conducted by BBC Igbo, Chinonye Egbo revealed her unwavering passion for teaching, despite initial resistance from her father, who had envisioned her pursuing a career as an engineer.
Chinonye’s journey to academic success was guided by her resolute determination and unwavering support from her mother.
Though her father initially wished for her to pursue engineering, Chinonye’s mother recognized her daughter’s fervent desire to become a teacher.
Her academic journey began with outstanding achievements during her undergraduate years, where she graduated with a first-class degree.
Undeterred by the challenges that lay ahead, she went on to pursue her MSc, which she completed with equal brilliance. Remarkably, all these accomplishments were attained by the young prodigy at the age of 24.
Not content with two degrees, Chinonye boldly embraced the challenge of pursuing a PhD, further exemplifying her dedication and passion for knowledge and education.
Her pursuit of a doctorate at such a young age showcases her exceptional commitment to academic excellence.
