While the baseball world was gushing over how good the New York Yankees have been, the Seattle Mariners swooped in and won two series against them.
Seattle took two out of three from the Bronx Bombers at Yankee Stadium last week.
The Yankees came to T-Mobile Park this week and won the series opener, but dropped the final two.
And so, the Mariners have won the season series against the Yankees for the first time since 2002.
Mariners manager Scott Servais is pretty happy about that and talked about how the times are changing in baseball, with the Mariners looking ready to finally end their postseason drought.

A New Era In Seattle
Seattle might just have something to cheer about this October.
The Yankees have been the best team in all of baseball for the vast majority of the 2022 season.
But the Mariners are proving to be a very worthy foe for the Yankees and several other teams.
When you can win a season series against a team like the Yankees, you have to consider your team fortunate.
The Mariners are well behind the Houston Astros in the American League West, but are right in the thick of the Wild Card race, currently holding the second spot with a 61-52 record.
They have become a force to be reckoned with in the American League and are now looking like they’re ready to finally put an end to their playoff drought.
Seattle last made it in 2001 when they won 116 games during the regular season.
If they won a season series against the Yankees for the first time since 2002, then it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility that the Mariners will ultimately snap their playoff drought.
