Manchester United’s duo of Alex Telles and Fred will be unavailable for their trip to Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday, after testing positive for COVID-19.
However, Ralf Rangnick will have Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani back in the squad.
United have now confirmed Telles missed their FA Cup defeat to Middlesbrough on Friday after testing positive before the match, while Fred reported to training on Monday only to be sent home.
Telles should recover in time to play against Southampton on Saturday, but Fred is now a major doubt to feature in that game, as he will need to be isolated for at least the next five days.
“The Brazilian pair have tested positive for Covid-19, meaning they now have to isolate in line with Government guidelines,” a United statement read.
Telles and Fred are the only absentees in Rangnick’s squad aside from Mason Greenwood, who remains suspended following his arrest.
