Manchester United’s promising forward, Amad Diallo, is returning to England after withdrawing from the Ivory Coast squad ahead of the upcoming AFCON qualifiers. His sudden exit has drawn attention from fans and football enthusiasts.
Diallo, known for his impressive pace and skills on the field, joined Manchester United in January 2021 and has since made 18 appearances, netting two goals. Before his move to Manchester, he played for Atalanta, where he secured two Campionato Primavera 1 titles.
The Ivory Coast national team had high hopes for Diallo’s contributions, especially given his strong showing during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches where he scored his first international goal in a friendly against Burkina Faso in June 2021.
The 22-year-old was expected to play a significant role in Ivory Coast’s double-header against Sierra Leone, with the first match set for Friday, October 11, and the second a few days later, on Tuesday, as part of the AFCON qualifiers. However, Diallo is now heading back to Carrington after reporting illness while in the national team camp.
