Liverpool thrashed Tottenham 4-2 in Sunday’s Premier League encounter, dealing a major blow to Spurs’ top-four hopes.

Mohamed Salah headed Liverpool in front at Anfield, leaving Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario helpless.

The Reds extended their lead just before halftime when Andy Robertson capitalized on a close-range opportunity to make it 2-0.

After the break, Liverpool continued their dominant play as Cody Gakpo made it three to take the game out of reach from their visitors.

Nine minutes later, Harvey Elliott slotted in a stunner, making it 4-0.

Despite the disappointing scoreline, Tottenham rallied round to stage a comeback.

Richarlison came off the bench to pull one back, reducing the scoreline to 4-1, Son Heung-min then ignited hopes further with another goal to make it 4-2.

However, Liverpool held strong to secure the crucial victory, leaving Tottenham in a tight position in their top-four race.
