Liverpool have dashed Arsenal’s FA Cup hopes with a 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium, after the home side missed several opportunities.
Despite an early dominance by Mikel Arteta’s side, both teams struggled to convert chances created, until the late stages of the game.
Arsenal missed key opportunities, with Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka failing to capitalize on clear-cut chances.
The breakthrough came in the 80th minute when Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner deflected off Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior’s head and found the back of the net, putting Liverpool in the lead.
In added time, Luis Diaz sealed the victory for Liverpool, as they advance to the fourth round of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are known for their strong FA Cup history with 14 titles, including Arteta’s first managerial trophy in 2020.
On the other hand, Liverpool, with their 8th FA Cup title win against Chelsea in 2022, showed more determination, and have now moved to the next round.
