Actress and filmmaker Ego Boyo has asked Lead British International School’s management to implement an anti-bullying policy following an assault on a female student.
Ego Boyo said this in a post on her X account on Wednesday, saying that “Any school of that caliber should have policies in place to care of any situation.
“There should be an anti bullying policy, a safe guarding policy et alIn 2024? Come on, waiting for govt agencies to take charge of a school matter? Come on now A fail.”
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Federal Ministry of Education summoned school administrators to discuss the incident.
Yusuf Sununu, the minister of state for education, highlighted the administration’s stance against all forms of harassment and intimidation at educational institutions during the meeting.
Sununu expressed profound worry about the widely disseminated videos and stated that the Federal Government would take prompt steps to prevent similar incidents from occurring in any educational institution.
The minister formed a seven-member team to thoroughly study the events surrounding the documented incidence.
The committee’s goal, he explained, was to investigate the incidents revealed in the tapes and to broaden the probe to other schools, using Lead British International School as a case study to address greater societal vices.
