A Nigerian lady has shared how she was able to secure her first multinational job after participating in the famous Nathaniel Bassey’s Hallelujah Challenge.
The lady known as @Munachimsoooo on X shared her testimony in response to a tweet asking people how they secured their first job.
According to her, during the Hallelujah Challenge 5 years ago, she had written down the sort of job that she wanted, which was a multinational one since she didn’t want to work with Nigerian firms.
Miraculously she was called by an American firm, and her faith stood her out from the rest.
Check out her story below …
“It was Hallelujah Challenge 7 years ago. I had written down the kind of job I wanted. I didn’t want to work in a firm. I prefered a multinational. During the course of the challenge, a senior associate at the firm where I did NySC sent me this opening that was shared in their WhatsApp group. I went for interview and during the course of the interview, the Head of Legal who is Jamaican has asked why I was different from the others, I said cos I learn something new everyday. She asked what i learnt yesterday and it happened to be a Sunday so I responded that I learnt about “Olowogbogboro” the outstretched arm of God.
She was confused at first and I started to explain what Olowogbogboro meant in English and the Nigeria lawyers started to chuckle, they couldn’t believe it. Long story short, 2days after the interview, they reached out fora background check and I worked there for 5years. The Jamaican lady and I are like mom and daughter till today. She always thought I was a gold fish since that interview.
The day HR called to make me an offer, I was in the Cinema and didn’t hear my phone ring. Came out after the movie and saw plenty missed calls😁. Called back and it was them.
Background check took over a month. It was an American company so it was very extensive. The day they came to take thumbprint for the background check, I was in church🤣🤣. Any interview I had at the time, I didn’t really take it serious cos they were all Naij firms, I will just go for the interviews and make it light hearted. Throwing jokes here and there. I think it was around this time I went to audition as an actress.
Yes, I auditioned for a role at NdaniTV🤣🤣🤣🤣. I still hope to act someday shaaa. Open to opportunities 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️”
