Kylian Mbappe wins Globe Soccer Awards Player of the Year

The captain of the French national team, Kylian Mbappe, was named the best player in Europe for the 2023/24 football season at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony.

A lot of present and past footballers were all present at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, which was held in Italy on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Kylian Mbappe was impressive for Paris Saint-German during the 2023/24 football season, his influence was key in helping the Parisians win the Ligue 1 and also reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Mbappe scored 44 goals and also added 10 assists to his name in 48 games across all competitions, the highlight of his season was PSG winning a treble.

Other players nominated for the award include; Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico), Serhou Guirassy (Stuttgart), Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Harry Kane (Bayern), Lautaro Martinez (Inter), Rodri (Manchester City), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) and Vinicius Júnior (Real Madrid).

Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid after the final of the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund which will be played on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Bayern Leverkusen’s manager, Xabi Alonso was named the best manager of the season while the manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta was named the best manager in the Premier League.
