Popular movie producer and actor, Kunle Afolayan’s daughter, Eyiyemi Afolayan has recounted how she landed her role in her father’s movie, ‘Anikulapo’.
Although the movie was rejected by Nigeria Oscars, it has gained recognition and positive reviews all round.
Kunle Afolayan introduced one of the actors who played the role of Omowunmi in the movie “Anikulapo” as his daughter.
In the movie, Anikulapo, Eyiyemi Afolayan portrayed the daughter of the King’s second wife. She was caught up in a love triangle that resulted in Saro’s banishment and ‘first death’.
The well-known movie producer posted a video of himself on Instagram interrupting an interview as he said:
“That’s my daughter, that’s my daughter, I’m so proud of her.”
The daughter Eyiyemi revealed to the interviewer in the video that her father had initially doubted her ability to portray the part, but that she ultimately exceeded his expectations following the film’s debut. In her words:
“Well, being in this movie was a last-minute thing. My dad just reached out to me and said, Oh Eyiyemi I want to send you a script, read this particular character and let me know if you can play it out.
“And then I read through them. and said, of course, I can play it out. And he said are you sure?, and I said, “Daddy, just try me out.”
The starlet revealed that Anikulapo is her first movie, and she has never been on a set.
Many well-known personalities sent positive comments on his Instagram post, as he captioned it with “Thank you guys.”
Eyiyemi Afolayan is Kunle’s third child who clocked 17, on September 11, 2022.
