During an interview with KAPTV, Afolayan, whose daughter plays Princess Omowunmi, stated that a princess’ role requires someone beautiful.
The 48-year-old filmmaker also stated that it helped him cut costs as he didn’t have to pay her.
“If you want to portray a princess, I think there’s no given that the person has to be beautiful. And she’s beautiful. It felt good because at least, I didn’t have to pay her; even though I was paying her directly or indirectly.”
Omo Oba Omowunmi, according to Afolayan’s young daughter, is beautiful but foolish and gullible. Speaking during the same interview, she stated how she feels about the character.
“Omowunmi is a very foolish one. Because I mean Saro never proposed love to her but she already started having ideas in her head.
“Omowunmi, she’s beautiful no doubt and she’s gullible.”
Anikulapo was released to high anticipation from fans all over the world and the film did not fail to meet expectations, as it continues to rack up numbers of streams on Netflix.
