Katie Maloney is “blaming” Scheana Shay for Tom Schwartz’s recent hookup with Raquel Leviss, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
“Raquel and Schwartz 100 percent hooked up during Scheana’s wedding,” a production source tells us, acknowledging the catalyst for the current “Vanderpump Rules” drama.
“Katie is mad at Scheana because she believes Scheana is responsible for Raquel and Schwartz hooking up.”
The source notes that Leviss, 27, and Schwartz, 39, are both “super easygoing” and “can be a bit passive” at times.
“So who was going to make the first move?” the insider asks, adding, “Katie thinks Scheana’s encouragement gave Raquel and Schwartz the green light to explore a connection.”
The source goes on to say that Maloney, 35, is “very annoyed over the situation” — and not because her estranged husband is exploring other romantic connections in the wake of their divorce.
“She’s just annoyed because he decided to hook up with a girl in their circle of friends,” the insider says. “She’s blaming Scheana. “
However, a second source tells Page Six that Maloney was the one who first suggested that Schwartz and Leviss should go for it.
“She planted the seed,” the insider shares. “Katie initially put the idea out there. She told Scheana, ‘They’d be really cute together.’ Scheana simply relayed the message later on to Raquel: ‘Katie thinks that you and Schwartz would make a really good match and gave her blessing.’”
The source also points out, “It’s quite odd that Katie is aiming her angst at Scheana even though Scheana didn’t make out with anyone.”
Reps for Maloney, Shay, Schwartz and Leviss did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
In the July 22 episode of Shay’s “Scheananigans” podcast, Schwartz opened up about his split from Maloney and revealed that their relationship may have caused him to overlook Leviss.
“I was so caught up in my own little world and I was married — I never took time to get to know Raquel,” the Schwartz & Sandy’s co-founder told Shay, 37.
“She was always cool. I just never really took [the] time to invest in her. That’s a horrible way to phrase it. I never really gave her a chance,” he continued. “She has so much depth and character. I think I wrote her off.”
Schwartz’s comments came less than a month before he and Leviss made out at Shay and Brock Davies’ Aug. 23 wedding in Mexico, an event filmed for “Pump Rules” Season 10.
Maloney was also in Mexico during the time of the nuptials and grabbed drinks with fellow castmates, including James Kennedy — who was previously engaged to Leviss — and her good pal, Kristina Kelly, who often pops up in episodes.
But Maloney never made it to the celebration as Shay’s now-husband, Davies, 31, claimed the “You’re Gonna Love Me” podcast host was “uninvited” — likely due to the ladies’ current feud.
Schwartz and Maloney began dating in September 2010 and tied the knot in front of Bravo cameras in August 2016.
Maloney filed for divorce in March 2022 and admitted that “it was the hardest thing” she has ever done.
Bravo has yet to announce a premiere date for “Vanderpump Rules” Season 10.
