“Polygamy is legal in Kenya, there is nothing called home breaking!” Karen Nyamu says.

Karen Nyamu has once again found herself in the midst of public scrutiny, particularly concerning her relationship with musician Samidoh. The pair has children, and their highly publicized affair reportedly led Samidoh’s legal wife, Edday Nderitu, to relocate with their kids to America.

Despite facing criticism for her role in the controversy, Karen Nyamu remains unapologetic, addressing netizens who label her a home wrecker.

In response to the accusations of being a home breaker, Nyamu took to her Facebook page to assert her stance.

Known for her outspoken nature and resilience against criticism, Nyamu acknowledged the collective efforts of Kenyan women in speaking out against femicide, expressing her determination to contribute to legislative changes with recent deaths of Starlet Wahu and Rita Waeni causing uproar among netizens as most leaders avoid speaking against it.

Karen Nyamu revealed that it was part of her legislative agenda, upon the resumption of parliamentary sessions in February. She aims to push for amendments to recognize femicide as a distinct crime, advocating for heavier sentences for perpetrators.

She also emphasized the need for the government to collect data on women and provide training for health and law officers to proactively identify and protect women.

When a follower commented on her post, inquiring about punishment for home breakers, Nyamu responded by challenging the notion, saying that polygamy is legal in Kenya. Claimed that there is no concept of “home breaking.”
